The workshop food and displacement went to the other side of Scheldt to talk with some of the
refugees of the refugee Centre. The young residents gave them a tour through all the shared areas in
the centre. Most of the residents live in the centre for a period of 3 up to 12 months while they wait
until they can legally live in Belgium.
The centre has different areas for all ages and all nationalities. This goes from child toys and playing
ground up to a cinema room for the older residents. To maintain themselves they can work around
the centre to earn a bit of extra money to make their stay more comfortable. The Centre only
provides the most necessary needs for the residents.
